Mr Wilkinson's

Melbournites will easily recognise the name Matt Wilkinson’s and attach it to the Pope Joan cafe which was made famous by its Reuben sandwich that was so popular it was made available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Before starting Pope Joan cafe, Matt hailed from Bransley, South Yorkshire in the North of England where is made his start in fine dining working with Michelin-starred chef Martin Wishart before heading to Australia and working at both Vue de Monde and Circa Prince.

With his passion in growing and sourcing fresh produce and he started Pope Joan in 2010 which doubles as a neighbourhood cafe by day and casual eatery with a wine bar and kitchen garden by night.

He’s also the name behind Mr Wilkinson’s cookbooks which herald the importance of appreciating where the food comes from. It, therefore, is no surprise that Matt would branch out into bottling his philosophy in his new range of relishes and sauces – also named Mr Wilkinson’s.
