Tonantzin Chocolate

Tonantzin is a family-run business helmed by Caitlin and Fernando Ramirez from the Yarra Valley of Victoria. Inspired by the ancient traditions of Mexico cacao originate from, and their aim is to share the rich and sacred teachings that come from this way of life. The name Tonantzin translates into blessed Mother Earth. The cacao helps humanity to connect and live in harmony with Mother Earth. 
Using Criollo cacao in their handmade chocolate, the cacao is stone ground and uses the highest quality ingredients, rich in nutrients. Organic wholefood ingredients are sourced along with some wild harvested to create their delicious chocolate. Many superfoods are used to flavour their bars along with some traditional foods from Mexico including Maya nut, amaranth, mesquite, açai, purple corn, prickly pear, chilli and more! 
Tonantzin Chocolate prides itself on being is eco-friendly using vegetable inks to print its chocolate boxes on recycled cards and the chocolate is sealed inside in a compostable bag. 
More rewarding of all, they feel It’s beautiful that the chocolate they create supports the children of the family in Australia and the family back home in Mexico where this way of life has travelled from.
