Product Information

An iconic collaboration between Four Pillars Gin and Olsson's Salt. Made using Four Pillar's Gin's spent botanicals from the gin making process, this Rare Dry Gin salt is a blend of those dehydrated botanicals with Olsson's Marine Mineral Salt.

This mix with the Four Pillars' nine botanicals makes for a seasoning salt for roast chicken, pork loin, roasted vegetables or sprinkled onto stir fried greens, for curing fish like salmon or kingfish and amazing to use for salted caramel to liberally pour over some premium vanilla ice cream.

About Olsson's Salt

The Olsson family have been making solar sea salt since the 1950s and is the oldest family owned and operated sea salt maker in Australia with a history in Australia dating back to 1878.

Through the process called 'solar evaporation' using only the sun and wind, Olsson's sea salt flakes are sourced from two of the world's most pristine oceans - The Great Barrier Reef in Queensland and The Great Australian Bight in South Australia.

The end result is an exquisite all natural sea salt free from chemical processes that tastes of the ocean.

About Four Pillars Gin

The genesis of Four Pillars Gin in 2013 came about from three mates, Cameron Mackenzie, Stuart Gregor and Matt Jones, and an extraordinary copper still which they lovingly called ‘Wilma’ after Cameron’s late mother. They couldn’t think of anything more natural than to utilise local native botanicals and their signature use of whole fresh citrus in making their modern Australian gin.

As they were making their gin, they noticed they were left with kilos of gin-steamed organic oranges that had been imparted with the unique botanicals from the gin production process. They got their thinking caps on, and in collaboration with another Yarra Valley maker, A Bit of Jam & Pickle, their “Made from Gin” range was born with their original Orange Marmalade. 

Fast forward to now, they have further expanded their “Made from Gin” range and continue to give the by-products of their gin making process a second life.
